Something tells me that the officials in Alabama knew this decision would be defeated in court and anticipated the strong possibility that the Department of Justice under Trump would look the other way to their corruption when a remedy would be proposed. That is, unless the courts somehow have a way to enforce this ruling without the involvement of the feds. Someone please update and correct me on this. Either way it seems this may get revisited again in 4 years give or take.
