While I agree he’s definitely the strongest candidate to run for Senate, it’s a tough call between a no chance federal statewide race and a slight chance conservative Democrat wave recipient to pad a hopeful House majority.
He’s the type of Democrat that used to be able to hold red districts like this through good political years and bad based on a personality brand separate from the toxic party brand. Can that actually still happen in today’s America? Not a clue.
For me though, I’d lean wanting him to run for the House, because even a tsunami won’t elect a Democrat federally statewide in Kentucky, whereas a Trump +15 district could be on the outskirts of being in play, like an OK-05 shocker.
