Strongly suspect the outcome would have been the same, only Harris would have had to slog it out, endure attacks from other Dems, run to the left, etc., before eventually clinching the nomination. And then into the general election in no better and quite possibly a worse place. I suppose there's some alternate reality where she gets defeated by Dem Jesus who just makes an entirely different 2024 happen but I doubt it!
lol, this site is approaching full DK front page status. She was an objectively awful candidate from the start, which is why Biden kneecapped her to stick to the Dem establishment that forced him out. Last Tuesday proves this.
Good candidates can lose, or bad candidates can win, depending on the environment and locale they're running in. Plenty of horrible republican candidates won in 2010 and 2014 for instance, solely because of the environment.
A lot could be said about Harris' 2020 primary performance... but the 2020 primary is not a permitted topic here. In 2024 I feel comfortable saying she ran an excellent national campaign. She still lost, despite that. Maybe if she was an Obama-level candidate she could have eked out a win, but if that's our standard for good/bad candidate, then >95% of major candidates would qualify as bad.
There are absolutely things we can learn from this year to improve and do better in future elections. Her running a good campaign is not an absolution for her or our party from an impetus to do better next time. Ultimately I think the core issue this cycle was the political environment and that winning harder than losing as a result.
Excuse my French; Fuck Dean Phillips !!
Or don’t.
Lmao😂
Why? He was clearly right. If Biden had been replaced sooner with a real primary the Dem may have won.

Our Dem Jesus would have been defeated by this Republican Jesus.

Considering her past performances I have my doubts she would have prevailed had it been open
Full disagree
