Breaking: Georgia has now surpassed 50 percent of their total 2020 vote. As of 2:30pm today, at least 2,520,887 people have cast Early Votes. Georgia is the first state to exceed 50 percent turnout relative to 2020.

2020 turnout was 66%. 2024 70% ?

Turnout % may not be higher but raw turnout could because there are 600k more registered voters than 2020 in GA

Some county-level stats on this metric in Metro Atlanta:

Fulton 54%

DeKalb 49%

Cobb 48%

Rest of the state is a mixed bag. Rural R turnout is great for them in NE Georgia (this is normal, though, those folks vote especially early). And I think they're doing ok in SE Georgia too, though not as nuts. But NW Georgia is well below 50% and same for large swaths of Central Georgia. Black turnout for us is also down.

Though I have to say that upon a closer look I'm not sure how much Black turnout is down from 2020. Clayton County (almost entirely Black, near Atlanta) is at 49% of 2020. Now it only had about 60% turnout in 2020, so it's behind the state overall, but...

According to the Marist poll, Harris leads 55-45 among those who have already voted. Hopefully this holds up.
