DeWine picks LT Gov Jon Husted for Senate in OH.

He seems noncontroversial and DeWine is popular. Seems like it would be harder for Sherrod Brown instead of a more polarizing figure like Ramaswamy

Husted was always the likeliest choice

Wonder if one of the Freedom Caucus nuts challenges him in a primary.

Probably. Davidson would seem likely, Jordan enjoys his perch in the House too much

But Ramaswamy won't be out of the Ohio electoral picture yet, as he's likely to run for governor.

This can only be a help to Ohio Dems, assuming they get a decent gubernatorial candidate. Even if Ramaswamy isn't nominated, the primary fight may get bloody.

Vivek is one of the most remarkably unlikeable politicians IтАЩve seen in a long time, and itтАЩs amazing he took that crown (for me at least) in a primary that included RDS and Trump

And that's his downfall. Unlike Trump he's incapable of at least FAKING being touchy feely.

We'll have to get a candidate who is at best moderate on gun rights if we want to have ANY chance of poaching Republican voters in rural Ohio. Also base Democrats will have to put up with a candidate who isn't gun ho pro choice or LGBTQ rights.

I am not convinced of this (obviously I think Brown would immediately put the seat in play against Husted); I think everything depends on how radical Trump is and the backlash it creates

I was referring to the Governorship, but I get your point.
