No. As a person with an actual mental illness, I get so tired of this. Being a complete asshole is not a mental illness, it's being a complete asshole.
I hear you, Frank. Even more bothersome, at least to me, is the way the news media link or explain away mass shooters as being a problem of "mental illness". That stigmatizes a large percentage of Americans who do struggle with mental illness тАУ without having any tendencies to violence.
This is why I get tired of hearing stories of psychiatrists making assessments of Trump's diagnosis without having any scientific evidence or history evaluating him at a one-on-one meeting. Same goes for psychologists.
Sure, Mary Trump knows Trump better than other psychologists. However, making a random assessment at face value is short-sighted and doesn't do anyone any good.
He lies the way other people breathe. But he appears before the cameras almost everyday to try and narrative. What a novel approach. After the previous four years I thought a president was legally barred from doing that.
Not to defend our officials' wholly insufficient media strategy, but there is a caveat here in that something about this turd functionally short circuits the way the media covers things and he can get wall-to-wall coverage of anything at any time. We cannot get that. Normal republicans can't either.

this guy covers both bases at the same time
YouтАЩre missing the point.

HeтАЩs a sociopath. Which is a combination of the two.

Narcissism is a type of mental illness, though, right? I totally get your point, though.

We still need to try way harder, to be clear.
Both Paleo and yourself are true. It's absolutely mind bending how Trump gets exactly what he wants from the media on a literal hourly basis.
