Morning Digest: The battle for the House is still up in the air
And we'll be tracking it every step of the way
Though the Senate and the White House will be in Republican hands come January, the battle for the House still has not been decided and may not be for some time. The Downballot will be closely tracking every uncalled race until all final results are known.
You can stay on top of every development with the Morning Digest each day, or by keeping tabs on our continually updated results tracker.
We are extremely grateful to all of our subscribers for your many years of steadfast readership, but most especially for the support you’ve given us over the past three months as we launched this new venture.
And we’re not going anywhere. Once again, just as we saw eight years ago under similar circumstances, downballot elections will take on an outsized importance, and we’ll be there to cover them all. Donald Trump and his adherents will seek to erode our democracy, but this fight is not over yet—not by a long shot.
Today is a hard day. Please take care of yourselves everybody and take care of those you hold dear.
Everyone, please, we are not discussing Israel-Palestine issues, we are not blaming this election on Muslims. We are not blaming it on Latino men (6% of the electorate)...take a look at the swing map across the whole country. And this is not the time or the place to argue what concessions Democrats should make with regards to protecting trans people. Everyone's mad and looking to point the finger at whose fault this is, but this is one of those rare elections where the answer is literally everyone everywhere. A huge, structural problem. One that won't be solved by moderating on one magic issue, or fixating on one particular demographic.
