This is a huge symbolic victory for Democrats, especially the FL Democratic Party.

Florida may be on its way to not being a Failed State, but they have a long road yet to travel. Step 1 - stop electing fascist crooks. Why have Ron DeSantis, Casey DeSantis and James Uthmeire not been arrested for stealing $38 million from Florida Medicaid funds?

What about NC GOP leader loss?

That was documented a couple weeks ago. Today was when he conceded to his opponent when people thought he was going to drag this out.

⬆️"What about NC GOP leader loss?"

That was pretty clear ever since they counted the provisional ballots (after the March 3rd primary) and Berger's deficit went from 2 votes to 23 votes. (I'm in NC, albeit not close to Berger's state senate district).

It was just a matter or how quickly Berger would concede. IIRC, tomorrow is the the official canvass of all the counties for the primary. Berger already sucked up a lot of resources in his primary that could have been spent on other GOP Senate candidates in the Nov election. As a Democrat, I'm fine with that, but I doubt his GOP colleagues were happy about it!

In 2024, the GOP candidate for the state Supreme Court tried everything he could think of to cheat his way to overturn Justice Allison Riggs victory. She was sworn in a full 6 months after the Nov 2024 election.

And Berger aided Jefferson Griffin in that failed attempt, even passing two sore loser lame duck bills (shortening the cure period from 10 to 3 days and requiring the governor to fill judicial vacancies of the same party as the outgoing one).

It is not just impressive that the Democratic Party has flipped this many seats in the last year-plus, but also the geographic range of the flips. From Fort Worth, Texas, to Palm Beach, Florida. From Little Rock, Arkansas to Athens, Georgia. From Sioux City, Iowa to Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
