This is a huge symbolic victory for Democrats, especially the FL Democratic Party.

Florida may be on its way to not being a Failed State, but they have a long road yet to travel. Step 1 - stop electing fascist crooks. Why have Ron DeSantis, Casey DeSantis and James Uthmeire not been arrested for stealing $38 million from Florida Medicaid funds?

What about NC GOP leader loss?

That was documented a couple weeks ago. Today was when he conceded to his opponent when people thought he was going to drag this out.

⬆️"What about NC GOP leader loss?"

That was pretty clear ever since they counted the provisional ballots (after the March 3rd primary) and Berger's deficit went from 2 votes to 23 votes. (I'm in NC, albeit not close to Berger's state senate district).

It was just a matter or how quickly Berger would concede. IIRC, tomorrow is the the official canvass of all the counties for the primary. Berger already sucked up a lot of resources in his primary that could have been spent on other GOP Senate candidates in the Nov election. As a Democrat, I'm fine with that, but I doubt his GOP colleagues were happy about it!

In 2024, the GOP candidate for the state Supreme Court tried everything he could think of to cheat his way to overturn Justice Allison Riggs victory. She was sworn in a full 6 months after the Nov 2024 election.

And Berger aided Jefferson Griffin in that failed attempt, even passing two sore loser lame duck bills (shortening the cure period from 10 to 3 days and requiring the governor to fill judicial vacancies of the same party as the outgoing one).

Berger is a snake. Although who ever replaces him probably won't be much better.

If there is any hope of getting fair maps, we need to reelect Anita Earls in November and then flip the GOP Supreme Court seats in 2028. (I think Berger's son is one of them up in 2028 but I may be wrong).

For anyone living in NC, check out the Anytime Canvassing program for Justice Earls. There is a Zoom on this tonight:

It is not just impressive that the Democratic Party has flipped this many seats in the last year-plus, but also the geographic range of the flips. From Fort Worth, Texas, to Palm Beach, Florida. From Little Rock, Arkansas to Athens, Georgia. From Sioux City, Iowa to Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

I think the word was stunning. Massive Morale Booster! Massive in effect on the sum total nationwide.30 to 0 is a clock cleaning wipe out in any human contest.

I find it inconceivable that people who know politics enough to become governors don't understand the consequences of taking people out of legislative seats for other government positions and yet it keeps happening to Repugnants. Keep it up people. We love it.

I love this quote from a Democratic consultant in Florida. “In some ways, the Tampa result, if it holds, is even more stunning [than the Mar-A-Lago election], given that the Democrats did virtually nothing there.” Do nothing is something the Florida Democratic Party excels at. Can you imagine what might happen if the party made an effort in Florida?

This and the other win in Florida means that Florida is in play in November with a very strong candidate for U.S. Senate leading the way. If the Florida Democratic Party will back more candidates with campaign cash Democrats can break the GOP super majority in both Houses in 2026 and then take the legislature in 2028. A great reform to support is to combine the local elections with the even year elections which will save taxpayers' millions in tax money and boost voter turnout. A side benefit is more women and more minorities will get elected to local office.

I'm donating to and amplifying Democrats wholeheartedly! Everyone should be so that common sense will reign in Florida once again. I love my state and look forward to seeing it turn blue again💙
